This year marks the 70th anniversary of Kyodo Yushi. We commenced operation on 50th March, 1947 in Kanagawa, Japan. This would not have been possible without the support and understanding of all of you — customers, shareholders, business partners and distributers both at home and abroad.

Our 70 years history shows that so many customers of the time had offered us support and encouragement. Kyodo Yushi owes what it is now to successful global business development of Japanese companies, our partner businesses. Our growth is the very history of the support from all of our stakeholders.

In 1936, 11 years prior to the beginning of operation, Founder Soshiro Kofune, established " Obune Shokai," a petroleum products trading firm. His strong belief underlies Kyodo Yushi today which has made substantial contributions to Japanese industry by manufacturing grease since the postwar years. We have no doubt that his pioneering spirit was exactly educating and training people driven by his belief of building a world-leading company to recover Japan in the chaotic times after WWII. His sprint has been inherited in Kyodo Yushi today as our corporate philosophy, " to contribute to industry through exercising the Spirit of Tribology" and our " code of conduct." Our mission is to remain well ahead of the constantly evolving industry demands and stretch the envelope further.

We may continue to face uncertain circumstances. Some call it once-in-a-century paradigm shift. We believe the shift will develop at a speed beyond our imagination, yet lubricant is vital for rolling ⁄ sliding parts all through the ages.

In a proposition of global environmental conservation, our social contribution through tribology researches stays essential. We believe we need to explore our activities further.

We always pursue customer satisfaction and aim to gain more trust of the world. The 70th anniversary offers every one of us an opportunity to look back our history to learn the achievements of people who made Kyodo Yushi what it is today and to renew our determination to build a company that contributes more to the world. We will do everything to carve out a new era. We would sincerely appreciate the continued guidance and cooperation of our stakeholders.
